After studying the early growth effects of artificial planting of Castanopsis kawakamii through the application of basal fertilizers, the results show that the application of basal fertilizers had a highly significant impact on the growth of Castanopsis kawakamii. When comparing the effects of applying three different basal fertilizers with not applying any basal fertilizer, significant differences were observed in the average ground diameter, average tree height, canopy width, and survival rate of Castanopsis kawakamii.Among them, the Castanopsis kawakamii treated with organic fertilizer exhibited the best growth, with the order of preference in terms of average ground diameter, average tree height, and average canopy width being as follows:Treatment A-1(2.5kg organic fertilizer)>Treatment B-1(0.25kg compound fertilizer)>Treatment C-1(0.5kg calcium-magnesium-phosphate)>Control(no fertilizer). In the comparison of different fertilizer application rates, the best growth of Castanopsis kawakamii was observed when applying 2.5kg of organic fertilizer,0.25kg of compound fertilizer, and 0.5kg of calcium-magnesium-phosphate,respectively.There was no significant difference in the effect of different fertilization amounts on the survival rate.
