For many decades the Ketelhuis was the most important supplier of energy for Delft Technical University. In 1976 the former boiler house was replaced by more modern technology and from then on it became more and more dilapidated.Using circular measures Vakwerk Architecten renovated the decayed building complex and redesigned it as a lively place for coworking.Fittingly, they moved their own office there and they now share the renamed Vakwerkhuis with other co-workers.A total of 100 workplaces were made as well as nine spaces of different sizes for events and informal meetings. In the cafe, which is open to the general public,up to 3o further guests can work without needing to register in advance.
