Graphene oxide(GO)is prepared via modified Hummers method, and the removal effect of GO-persulfate(PS)on tetrabromo-bisphenol S(TBBPS)in water is studied.Study results show that the prepared GO has excellent adsorption performance and good catalytic oxidation. The combined action system of GO and PS can effectively remove TBBPS from water. The removal rate of TBBPS reaches 99.84%after 20 min of activation when the reaction temperature is 25℃,m(GO):m(PS)=2:1.On the basis, the removal rate of TBBPS can be increased by appropriately reducing the mass dosage ratio of GO to PS and increasing the reaction temperature. It is indicated through liquid phase redox potential and free radical detections that GO has an obvious activation effect on PS.Both SO-4·and·OH,two kinds of strongly oxidizing free radicals, are generated during the activation process.
