Objectives This study aims to investigate the clinical efficacy of nerve block combined with comprehensive nursing care in the treatment of postherpetic neuralgia in order to improve the patient’s quality of life. Methods Eighty patients with postherpetic neuralgia admitted to the rehabilitation department of a hospital from February 1,2018 to January 31,2021 were selected and randomly divided into an observation group and a control group, with 40 patients in each group.Patients in both groups received nerve block treatment. After the block, patients in the control group received conventional care, while patients in the observation group were given comprehensive nursing interventions on the basis of conventional care. The visual analog score of pain(VAS),quality of life score(SF-36),and satisfaction rate of nursing care were compared between the two groups before and after treatment. Results Compared with the control group, the VAS score(2.03±0.45)decreased,the SF-36 physical and mental health score(78.53±3.20,78.03±3.02)and the satisfaction rate of nursing(95%)increased in the observation group after treatment, and the differences were all statistically significant(p<0.05).Conclusions Nerve blocks combined with comprehensive nursing interventions can effectively relieve the pain of patients with postherpetic neuralgia and improve their quality of life and satisfaction with care.
