To explore the mediating role of professional identity and the moderating role ofinterdisciplinary learning experience on the relationship between supervisor-induced ostracism and research burnout.A sample of 473postgraduates were assessed using supervisor-induced ostracism questionnaire, professional identityscale, research burnout scale. The results showed that:(1) After controlling for gender and major,supervisor-induced ostracism positively predictsresearch burnout.(2) Professional identity partially mediates the relationship between supervisor-induced ostracism and postgraduate students' research burnout.(3)Interdisciplinary learning experience moderates the relationship between supervisor-induced ostracism and professional identity, namely, for postgraduates with interdisciplinary learning experience,supervisor-induced ostracism had a greater negative impact on their professional identity. The results reveal the mechanism of graduate research burnout, which can provide reference for prevention and intervention of graduate research burnout.
