摘　　要：海外华人史研究是近代以来中国史学界的传统领域,历经文化背景的时代变迁,因其复杂性成为吸收跨学科理论和方法的交叉地带。作为移民群体的海外华人所同时具有的民族性和跨国性,使得海外华人史与国际关系之间存在天然交集。借鉴国际关系学界方兴的“移民与国际关系”研究,有助于厘清晚清以来海外华人与中国外交,乃至更大范围的国际关系的历史交织。从国际关系的角度研究海外华人历史,不仅意味着研究路径和研究对象的变化,同时也意味着传统的侨史研究者需要加强对不同类别的历史文献的运用。海外华人与国际关系之间存在大量亟待开垦的学术荒地,中国学者有责任和义务挖掘海外华人群体在国际关系史中留下的复杂痕迹,及其所呈现的多重面像。The study of the history of the overseas Chinese has been a traditional field in the Chinese academic community in modern times.It underwent changes in cultural backgrounds over different eras and became an interdisciplinary frontier due to its complexity.The dual nature of ethnicity and transnationalism among the overseas Chinese as an immigrant group naturally intersected with the field of international relations.Drawing inspiration from the burgeoning field of‘Immigration and International Relations'in international relations studies can be conducive to clarify the historical interplay between the overseas Chinese and the Chinese diplomacy since the late Qing Dynasty,as well as within the broader context of international relations.The examination of the history of the overseas Chinese from an international relations perspective not only implies shifts in research pathways and subjects,but also underscores the need for traditional diaspora historians to enhance their utilisation of various categories of historical documents.There exists a vast academic frontier waiting to be explored between the topics of the overseas Chinese and international relations.The Chinese scholars shoulder the responsibility and obligation to unearth the intricate traces left by overseas Chinese communities in the history of international relations,along with the multifaceted identities shaped by them.
