Based on the judgment and exploration of the causes of the ecological crisis of capitalist society, ecological Marxism constantly seeks for ways to solve the ecological crisis, and puts forward the theoretical conception of constructing ecological socialism. The North American ecological Marxists represented by Agger and O 'Connor analyzed the ecological status quo of capitalism from "alienated consumption" and "double crisis" respectively, and pointed out that the fundamental way to solve the crisis is to take the road of ecological socialism.Their theoretical efforts are an attempt by the contemporary left wing to criticize modern capitalism from the perspective of ecology, showing an ecological discourse different from the previous green trend, providing a new research perspective for contemporary ecological Marxists, and providing important ideological resources for building a community of life on earth. However, both of their views have theoretical defects to some extent, deviating from the theoretical vision of Marxist ecology, and their rationality needs further discussion.
