摘　　要：《乞力马扎罗的雪》是美国现代著名作家海明威最具代表性的经典作品之一,小说运用了大量的象征手法,使小说包含了丰富的象征意蕴,表现了作者对生命的渴求、对人灵魂永恒的探究。文章从象征手法的界定、象征手法的表象及运用象征手法的意义三个方面对小说的象征艺术进行挖掘。象征手法的运用使小说结构更加完整、主题更加深刻,给读者带来更明晰的感悟和更触及灵魂的震撼。The Snows of Kilimanjaro is one of the most representative works of Hemingway,who was a famous modern American writer.There are a lot of symbolism in the novel which contains rich symbolic interior,showing the author’s longing for life and the eternal exploration of human soul.This paper explores the symbolic art of the novel from three aspects:the definition of symbolism,the representation of symbolism and the significance of using symbolism.The use of symbolism makes the structure of the novel more complete,the theme more profound,and brings readers clearer perception and more soul shock.
