摘　　要：本文结合LandScan人口分布数据库和县域人均GDP数据,综合考虑城市内部区域经济活动和人口密度构建了衡量城市多中心化水平的综合指标,并实证检验城市内部多中心结构如何影响中国制造业企业全球价值链(GVC)升级。研究发现:城市内部多中心结构有助于提升企业GVC地位。机制分析表明,多中心结构主要通过效率提升路径助力企业GVC升级,具体来看,多中心结构提升了劳动力配置效率、国内中间品效率以及技术溢出效率。此外,均衡的多中心分布、主中心与次中心的邻近、完善的交通基础设施以及要素流动水平的提升均有助于强化城市多中心结构对企业GVC地位的提升作用。本文的研究结论对中国城市发展实践中依托城市空间布局促进制造业价值链地位攀升具有重要的现实意义。This paper integrates population distribution data from the LandScan database and per capita GDP data of counties into a composite index,which comprehensively reflects regional economic activities and population density within the cities and measures the polycentricity of Chinese urban areas.We investigate the impact of urban polycentric structure on the global value chain(GVC)upgrading of Chinese manufacturing firms.The research yields the following findings:the urban polycentric structure significantly contributes to enhancing the GVC status of firms.Mechanism analysis reveals that the polycentric structure primarily facilitates GVC upgrading through efficiency improvement mechanisms.Specifically,the polycentric structure enhances labor allocation efficiency,domestic intermediate product efficiency,and technology spillover efficiency.Additionally,this study identifies factors such as equal polycentric distribution,proximity between subcenters and the main center,completed transportation infrastructure,and enhancements in factor flow,which further strengthen the positive effects of urban polycentric structure on the GVC status of firms.Our findings provide valuable insights into exploring pathways for firm-level GVC upgrading through the optimization of urban spatial structure.
