摘 要:晚清到民国,司各特历史小说在中国的经典化历程与意识形态的变迁密切相关,二者在特定的多元文化背景下相得益彰。司各特历史小说在中国的传播既是近代文学通往现代文学的一座“桥梁”,也是社会进步的“催化剂”。但意识形态的差异成为横亘在中西文化之间的“藩篱”,对司各特所描绘的共同体文化记忆形成了遮蔽和重构。司各特历史小说的汉译若要保持活力,急需积极调整翻译策略,突破意识形态的藩篱,再现文化记忆。目前,迫切需要在建立文化认同与文化自信的基础上求同存异、文明互鉴,因此探讨司各特历史小说在中国的经典化历程对于当今时代具有借鉴和启发意义。From the late Qing Dynasty to the Republic of China,the classicization of Scott’s historical novels in China was closely related to the change of ideology,and the two complemented each other in a specific multicultural context.The spread of Scott’s historical novels in China is a“bridge”to modernity in Chinese literature and a“catalyst”for social progress,while the difference between Chinese and Western ideologies becomes a“fence”between heterogeneous cultures,obscuring and reconstructing the community cultural memory portrayed by Scott.If Chinese translations of Scott’s historical novels are to have lasting vitality,we must actively adjust our translation strategies to break through the ideological barriers and reproduce cultural memories.In this era,there is an urgent need to establish a unified Chinese national identity,to seek common ground while reserving differences,and to learn from each other’s civilizations.Therefore,the discussion of the classicization of Scott’s historical novels in China has important implications for the present era.
