林语堂共情翻译的触发因素探究

摘　　要：林语堂在《论翻译》中提出的译者对作者、艺术和读者的三重责任,以及在其作品前序、后记等副文本译论话语中谈及的译者与作者、作品及读者的关系都充分体现了其共情翻译观。文章围绕这三重责任、三种关系总结相关译论话语,深入考证和分析林语堂共情翻译的触发因素,发现译者与作者精神的会合、译者与作品审美的契合、译者对读者心理的迎合形成了林语堂共情翻译的触发网络,情感、审美、认知三维共情合力作用于译者翻译选材、翻译策略以及译本的传播效果。Lin Yutang’s concept of empathetic translation is fully reflected by the translator’s triple responsibilities to the author,the art and the reader presented by him in his essay“On Translation”,as well as the relationship between the translator and the author,the work and the reader,as discussed in the para-texts such as the prefaces and postscripts of his works.Based on the summary of the relevant translation discourses concerning the three responsibilities and relationships,the paper examines and analyses the triggering factors of Lin Yutang’s empathetic translation,and explores the influence of the three-dimensional effect of cognitive,aesthetic and emotional empathy on the translator’s view of translation and translation strategies as well as the communication effect of the translation.
