摘　　要：爱德华·摩根·福斯特的《霍华德庄园》主要以玛格丽特和海伦两姐妹寻找真爱和精神居所的经历为主线,描述现代社会初期英国中产阶级人们之间的矛盾、隔阂和冲突,进而揭示人们遭遇的种种精神生态困境,堪称一部发人深省的经典佳作。从精神生态视角审思《霍华德庄园》中主要人物的精神生态困境颇具现实意义,它既能体现福斯特极富创造性和前瞻性的精神生态价值观,又能为当代和谐社会建设提供有价值的启示。Based on the vision of two sisters,Margaret and Helen,for finding true love and a spiritual home,Howards End,written by Edward Morgan Foster,is regarded as a thought-provoking classic,which describes the contradictions,estrangements and conflicts between the middle-class people in England during the early period of the modern society,and reveals the spiritual-ecological predicaments that people encounter.It is of practical significance to ruminate on the spiritual-ecological predicaments confronted by the main characters in Howards End from the perspective of spiritual ecology,not only reflecting Forster's creative and forward-thinking spiritual-ecological values,but also offering valuable insights for the construction of a contemporary harmonious society.
