摘　　要：汉字与汉语究竟是什么样的关系?这是汉字汉语研究中的重大理论问题,目前学界对此看法分歧,存在种种错误或模糊的认识。“汉字与汉语的关系”是一个大题目,本文只谈其中的两个问题:(1)汉字是汉族人的“第二语言”吗?答案当然是否定的,汉字跟拼音文字一样,只有通过语音才能表意;(2)汉字对汉语有哪些影响?文章提出三个方面的影响并举例加以说明:一是汉字对汉语有补充作用,二是汉字改变口语读音,三是汉字对日源词的借入具有助推作用。除了这三点,汉字对汉语的影响应该还有其他方面,值得继续研究。The factual relationship between the Chinese language and Chinese characters is a profound but disputed theoretical issue in the study of Chinese.This article mainly concentrates on two specific questions:(1)Are Chinese characters the“secondary language”for Chinese people?The answer is certainly negative because Chinese script,like alphabetic script,can only convey meanings via sounds.(2)What influences can Chinese characters exert over the Chinese language?This paper proposes and exemplifies three aspects of influences:the supplementary function of Chinese characters on the Chinese language,the change in oral pronunciations of some words due to Chinese characters,and the introduction and integration of some Japanese loanwords into the Chinese language through Chinese characters.In addition to these three points,other influences warrant further research.
