摘 要:《妄占辩》《妄择辩》《妄推吉凶辩》是南怀仁集中批判杨光先及其所奉中国星占、风水选择之术的系列之作。南怀仁融合西方天文科学知识与中国文化传统,批驳中国星占、风水选择之术的虚妄,并以“合理之用”和“非理之用”建构起判断风水选择之术的标准。南怀仁的辩护之作专于“辟妄”,鲜少“诠真”,在明清天主教护教文献中颇为独特,其“辟妄”之论是天主教在华传教史上的生动个案,也展现了一个17世纪中欧知识论交汇的微观场域。The texts Wangzhan Bian,Wangze Bian and Wangtuijixiong Bian are a series of works,in which Ferdinand Verbiest focused on criticizing Yang Guangxian and Chinese practices of astrology,geomancy and auspicious date selection.Integrating Western astronomical knowledge with Chinese cultural traditions,Ferdinand Verbiest refuted the falsehoods of Chinese astrology,geomancy and auspicious date selection,and constructed a standard for judging the legitimacy of geomancy and selection by“rational use”and“irrational use”.Verbiest’s works primarily refuted falsehood rather than interpreted the authority of Catholicism,which is quite unique in the Catholic apologetic works of the Ming and Qing Dynasty.It is a vivid case in the history of the Catholic mission in China and shows a microcosm of the intellectual intersection between China and Europe in the 17th century.
