摘　　要：通过梳理热带作物学科创立及发展历史,在国内工业原料天然橡胶供给、粮食安全和农民增收,以及世界热区粮食营养安全、缓解贫困等方面进行热带作物学科发展的战略重要性分析,进而阐释我国热带作物学科发展对推动全球热带作物事业发展和引领全球热带作物科技创新的战略性和紧迫性,以促进其发展地位提升和影响力提高。On the basis of the history of establishment and development of the tropical crop science discipline,this paper analyzed the strategic importance of tropical crop science development in terms of the industrial raw material natural rubber domestic supply,food security and farmers'income increase,as well as food and nutrition security and poverty alleviation in tropical zones of the world.And it further explained that the development of the tropical crop science discipline in China was strategic and urgent to promote the development of global tropical crops and lead its scientific and technological innovation,so as to promote the status and influence of the development of the tropical crop science discipline.
