Objective To investigate the effect of coccomyxa gloeobotry diformis polysaccharide on prostate hyperplasia in aging mice and its possible mechanism. Methods Thirty male C57BL/6J mice were selected to establish a natural aging mouse model and were randomly divided into the control group and coccomyxa gloeobotry diformis polysaccharide treatment group.H&E staining was used to observe the prostate histological changes. The expressions of proliferation-related proteins PCNA,CyclinD1 and inflammation-related proteins HO-1,COX-2,SODI were detected by Western blot. The expression of Ki67 was detected by immunohistochemistry. Results Coccomyxa gloeobotry diformis polysaccharide can significantly inhibit the prostate histological hyperplasia, and it can reduce the expression of PCNA,CyclinD1 and Ki67.In addition, coccomyxa gloeobotry diformis polysaccharide downregulated the expression of COX-2 and upregulated the expressions of HO-1 and SOD1.Conclusion Coccomyxa gloeobotry diformis polysaccharide can significantly inhibit prostate hyperplasia in aging mice by reducing prostate inflammation.
