Kawasaki disease(KD)is an acute febrile exanthematous pediatric illness characterized by systemic vasculitis, and the pathogenesis is not fully understood. However, increasing evidence indicates that gut microbiota plays an important role.Studies have found significant abnormalities in the gut microbiota of patients with KD.Using techniques such as metagenomics and metabolomics,it was found that the diversity of gut microbiota in patients with KD is reduced, and the numbers of certain bacteria such as bifidobacterium and lactobacillus are significantly decreased, while the numbers of opportunistic pathogens such as clostridium are increased. These changes are not only associated with the severity of the disease but also affect the immune system and metabolic processes of the patient. There is increasing evidence that gut microbiota can regulate immune responses and affect the occurrence and development of KD.This article reviews the research on the correlation between gut microbiota and KD.
