摘　　要：I was excited when reading the recent Science news article[1](Supplementary materials online)saying“deep(drill)cores fulfil60-year-old quest”.I wished I were an International Ocean Discovery Program(IODP)399 participant to share with the public my personal involvement in this historical event.
