摘　　要：This paper is an attempt to share the experience of employment of pragmatic explicitation in translating The War of Independence. Due to the unique pragmatic implication in the source language, explicitation is inevitable during translation. The techniques are literal translation + annotation, amplification, figurative translation, and addition of full name, which are complementary in the translation.
