摘　　要：Cognitive Construal Theory,a branch of cognitive linguistics,is of great benefit to translation studies.Wang Yin proposed four dimensions of“cognitive construal process”based on Langacker’s classification,namely,scope and background,perspective,salience,and specificity.This article aims to apply the Cognitive Construal Theory to translation by using different Chinese translations of The Remains of the Day,a classic novel,as an example to explore the translator’s subjectivity and objectivity.
