摘　　要：莎士比亚有众多的身份,比如剧作家、诗人、演员等,但作为文学家的身份是他的一个基本而重要的一面。就他的戏剧而言,他究竟有什么样的文学价值,一直是学界不曾系统探讨的一个话题。莎士比亚作为文学家的价值是文学在历史的积淀中体现出来的,因为除他的诗歌以外,他的戏剧作品也具有文学性。这些主要体现在:(1)多姿多彩的文体;(2)丰富无比的主题;(3)超级大的词汇量和语言表现力;(4)精彩纷呈、令人难忘的艺术形象;(5)高山仰止的思想深度和智慧高度。这些因素构成了莎士比亚伟大的文学艺术大厦及其恒久的艺术魅力与价值。Shakespeare boasts multiple identities like playwright,poet and player,but his role as a man of letters,i.e.,a writer,is one of his basic and essential aspects.What literary values he does have in his plays has long been a topic in want of systematic exploration.His value as a man of letters except that he was a poet was manifested in the sedimentation of his literary legacy in the history of literature.This was possible because Shakespeare's plays were cherished in their literariness,which includes such properties as(1)Flourishing styles and genres;(2)Rich literary themes;(3)A huge vocabulary and powerful linguistic competence;(4)Unforgettably magnificent characters;and(5)Imposing depth and breadth in thinking and a high altitude in wisdom.These factors have combined to contribute to the great mansion of Shakespeare's literary art and its lasting artistic glamour and cherishable values.
