摘 要:形象是一部文学作品的重要组成部分,也是读者了解作家态度和情感的途径之一。《画中情思》和《红字》是泰国现实主义作家西巫拉帕和美国浪漫主义作家霍桑的代表作,小说成功塑造了被封建礼教和清教思想毒害,从而失去爱情和幸福的女性形象吉拉娣和海斯特。两部小说通过对女主人公吉拉娣和海斯特的爱情婚姻的遭遇,揭示了社会环境、家庭背景和落后的传统道德观念对女性悲剧的影响,从小角度反映了当时社会状况的恶劣以及女性地位之窘境,从而启发读者思索女性该如何看待自己和认识自身的价值,认识到女性精神独立的重要性。Image is the important part of a literary work,it is one of the ways for readers to understand the attitude and emotion of the writer.Behind the Painting and The Scarlet Letter are the representative works of Siburapha and Hawthorne.These two novels successfully portray Keerati and Hester,who are poisoned by feudal ethics and Puritan ideology,thus losing their love and happiness.Through analysis the experiences between Keerati and Hester,the two novels reveal the influence of the social environment,family background and backward traditional moral concepts on female tragedies.It reflects the harsh social conditions and the predicament of women's status at that time from a small perspective,inspiring readers to think about how women should look at themselves and recognize their own values,and recognize the importance of women's spiritual independence.
