“躺”的源流演变

摘　　要：“躺”在现代汉语中是个常用词,但该词的身世我们目前还不清楚。比如“躺”字出现于何时?“躺”词产生于何时?词源又是什么?这些问题一概不明。本文经过查考,得出如下结论:“躺”字出现于明末,广为流行则是在18世纪以后;“躺”词出现于元代,元明时期多写作“倘”;古代耕部与阳部可以互转,故“躺”源自“挺”的音转分化。“躺”的词源的确认再次印证了词义演变中“义由用生”的基本原理,那种把词源和义源系联于古代辞书中某条模棱两可的释义而无实际用例或用例极少的字词的做法都是违背“义由用生”原理的,都难以成立。Tang(躺)is a common word in modern Chinese,but its evolution is still unclear.For example,when did the character躺appear?When did the word Tang come into being?What is its etymology?None of these issues is clear.This paper tries to answer these questions as fllows.The character躺 appeared in the late Ming Dynasty and became popular after the 18th century.The word Tang appeared in the Yuan Dynasty,and during the Yuan and Ming Dynasties it was mainly written as.Tang originates from the sound conversion of Ting(挺).
