说散氏盘中的“鞭”字及我国早期的鞭刑

摘　　要：散氏盘是西周晚期青铜器,盘铭记载了“夨”国、“散”国二小国土地纠纷之事,铭文中有一字作“■”形,学者对此字释读不一,本文结合其他相关字形及铭文内容,认为此字当以“鞭”字为是。该字形上面为俯身“人”形,下面是人手执鞭之状,中间以一竖形笔画和人形相连。我们由此可以看出,在我国早期,执行鞭刑时,犯人是俯身在地,并不是站着或跪着的。The Sanshi plate is a bronze vessel in the late Western Zhou Dynasty,which records the land dispute between"Ze"and"San".There is a character in the shape of""in the inscription,but scholars have different interpretations of this character.In combination with other related characters and the contents of the inscription,this paper believes that the character should be'whip'.The character should be analyzed as a bent'man'shape,and the following is a whip shape with a man hand,but the middle is connected to the man figure.Thus we can see that in the early China,when caning was carried out,the prisoner was possessed on the ground,not standing or kneeling.
