摘 要:学界以“蔬笋气”作为对诗僧创作风格与艺术特色的总体概括。由于译者斯奈德与原作者寒山皆为诗僧,故斯奈德选译的24首寒山诗在题材、语言、意境三个方面不可避免地带有蔬笋气。但身为受过高等教育的知识分子与垮掉派文学思潮领袖,斯奈德在翻译时也有选择地根据读者身份与社会背景进行某种创造性叛逆,为蔬笋气注入新的时代精神。而这种带有个人与时代印记的蔬笋气在斯奈德身上又升华为一种生活哲学,反过来指引着斯氏的创作实践与生命历程。The academic circle takes“lofty inspiration”as the general summary of monk poets’writing style and artistic characteristics.Since the translator Snyder and the writer Hanshan are both monk po⁃ets,these twenty⁃four Hanshan poems selected and translated by Snyder inevitably contain lofty inspi⁃ration,which are embodied in three aspects:theme,language and artistic conception.As a highly edu⁃cated intellectual and leader of the Beat Generation,however,Snyder also selectively carried out some creative treason according to his readers’identities and social backgrounds,which adds the spirit of time to the lofty inspiration.The lofty inspiration containing individual and time marks,in turn,subli⁃mating into a kind of living philosophy,which guides Snyder’s writing and life.
