摘　　要：伊迪丝·华顿作为美国19世纪最重要的作家之一,其创作的小说《纯真年代》反映了19世纪末纽约上流社会不同人物在环境压力下的悲惨遭遇,整部作品文笔细腻优美、结构精巧,一经推出便在美国文坛引起强烈反响。伊迪丝·华顿《纯真年代》的情节、人物的背景、特点,直接定位了小说的基调,男性人物的价值观、自由间接引语的叙述手法与暗含的女性主义叙事人物、声音与情节形成对照,表达了《纯真年代》女性意识、女性话语权观念,伊迪丝·华顿有关女性出路问题予以前瞻性设置,以促进女性权利在男权社会中真正获得解放。The Age of Innocence,written by Edith Wharton,one of the most important American writers of the 19th century,refl ects the tragic circumstances of diff erent characters in the New York society at the end of the 19th century.Once launched,the novel caused a strong sensation in the American literary world.The plot,background and characteristics of the characters in The Age of Innocence directly defi nes the tone of the novel,where the values of the male characters,the narrative techniques of free indirect quotation are contrasted with the implied feminist narrative characters,voices and plots,can express the female consciousness and the concept of female discourse power.Edith Wharton prospectively sets up the issue of women’s outlet to promote the real liberation of women’s rights in the patriarchal society.
