摘　　要："Dates ripen in July,pears in August,and persimmons in September."The months in this phrase refer to the lunar calendar.At times,however,we follow the solar calendar.For example,"The breeze at the Start of Autumn reddens hawthorns,and the White Dew indicates the harvest of walnuts."Hawthorns and dates ripen earlier than other fruits,well explaining these two lines.Villagers start to pick hawthorns after the Start of Autumn,as I once did with Xiumei.Picking hawthorns requires certain techniques.
