An Analysis of Deixis in Stories Released by WEP and Implications

摘  要:通过对WFP(联合国世界粮食计划署)所发布故事中的指示语进行研究,发现高频指示语都是人称指示语,涉及第一人称指示语“we”和“I”,以及第三人称指示语“her”“she”“they”“their”。认真分析这些指示语的搭配及指称情况,发现WFP多采用受助者视角讲述故事,尤其重视女性的话语,同时直观展示受助者的生活化细节以引起读者的共鸣,多强调受助者前后状态的对比以突出其工作的成效。因此,建议中国扶贫对外传播多采取受助者视角,以减少政治硬性宣传色彩以吸引读者读下去;基于中国扶贫的社会背景,重视故事中的女性视角;故事中应直观地展示事实数据及受助者前后状态对比,从生活化细节入手以引起读者共鸣。A study of the deixis in the stories released by WFP(the United Nations World Food Programme)shows that the high-frequency deixis is personal deixis,involving the first-person deixis“we”and“I”and the third-person deixis“her”,“she”,“they”and“their”.A careful analysis of the collocations and references of these deixis reveals that WFP tends to tell stories from the perspective of the beneficiaries,especially emphasizing the discourse of women,while visually displaying details of the beneficiaries’lives in a way that resonates with the readers,and emphasizing comparisons between the before and after states of the beneficiaries in order to highlight the effectiveness of their work.Therefore,it is suggested that China’s external communication on poverty alleviation should adopt the perspective of the beneficiaries to reduce the color of political propaganda to attract readers to read on;based on the social background of China’s poverty alleviation,it is recommended to pay attention to women’s perspectives in the stories;the stories should visually display the factual data and the comparison of before and after states of the beneficiaries,and start from the details of daily life in order to resonate with the readers.
