This paper focused on the static stability of single-layer cylindrical glued timber reticulated shells with X-shaped joints. The effect of friction coefficient of contact surfaces, bolt pretension and axial force of the X-shaped joints on the bending performance is analyzed via finite element simulations.Subsequently, stability analysis is performed on the single-layer cylindrical glued timber reticulated shell, considering the influences of joint bending stiffness, joint stiffness ratio, initial imperfections, load distributions and support forms on shell stability. The results are as follows, the influence of axial force on the initial bending stiffness and the ultimate bending moment of the joint is obvious. The initial bending stiffness and joint stiffness ratio have a great influence on the ultimate bearing capacity and buckling modes of the reticulated shells. The initial bending stiffness and load distribution form of the joint have a great influence on the ultimate bearing capacity of the reticulated shell without purlin and with purlin. The shells with purlins are more sensitive to the initial imperfections.
