China and Japan share close geographic proximity and a history of frequent interactions.Ancient Chinese culture had a profound impact on Japan, with classical Chinese poetry and literature serving as essential components of the aristocracy's education. In the realm of women's literature, figures such as Nukatano Ookimi and Murasaki Shikibu were influenced by Chinese literature, including conceptualization, artistic imagery, and linguistic expression. In modern times,Japan went through a process of"de-Asianization and Westernization,"wherein China was relegated to the position of the"other"as Japan sought to construct its modern identity.Japanese women conspired with the patriarchal society to distort and denigrate China, resulting in a significant transformation of the Japanese perception of China.During the war, many Japanese women came to China for various reasons. They were impressed by the kindness and simplicity of the Chinese people and the profound Chinese culture.China became their spiritual homeland and the origin and content of their literature. They contemplated the nature of war and humanity, advocating against war and nuclear weapons, giving rise to a distinct and characteristic body of literature.
