奈波斯和普鲁塔克笔下的福基昂形象之比较

摘　　要：奈波斯和普鲁塔克都曾为雅典将军福基昂立传,但两人根据各自的写作目的,塑造了完全不同的福基昂形象。奈波斯将福基昂描述成雅典的叛徒,通过分析他的政治失败来为读者提供历史教诲。普鲁塔克则出于道德教育和启示同胞的需要,将福基昂塑造成具有多种优良品德的道德典范和审慎务实的政治家。但两篇传记在内容上也有重合,反映出两人在写作手法上的相似性。奈波斯和普鲁塔克对福基昂的形象塑造,鲜明地表现出两人作品之间的区别和联系。Both Cornelius Nepos and Plutarch wrote biographies for the Athenian general Phocion.However,each author portrayed the image of Phocion according to his own writing purpose.Nepos considered Phocion as a traitor of Athens,and he analysed Phocion’s political failure in order to provide historical lesson for the reader.Plutarch,who was concerned with moral education and contemporary needs,described Phocion as a moral ideal with various virtues and a pragmatical politician.But there are also similarities in both biographies,which indicate some similar writing methods of both authors.The comparative study of the image of Phocion in both biographies clearly shows the differences and relationship between Nepos and Plutarch.
