摘　　要：公元前2世纪末是帕提亚帝国西扩的极盛时期,也是本都王国在米特里达梯六世领导下开始迅速崛起的时期。米特里达梯六世通过与帕提亚帝国和亚美尼亚王国的联盟关系,获得了来自当时西亚一流强国的资金支持,并得以迅速扩充国力和领土。因此,米特里达梯六世挑战罗马共和国东地中海霸权不应被仅仅看作是本都与罗马之间的战争,而是帕提亚帝国西向经略和罗马共和国东扩政策相碰撞产生的第一次非正面较量。随着帕提亚帝国陷入分裂动荡的“黑暗时代”,失去帕提亚支持的本都王国在与罗马的战争中因实力不济逐渐走向衰亡,最终使罗马共和国完成合并东地中海区域的历史使命。The end of the 2nd century BC was the height of the Parthian Empire's westward expansion,and it was also the time when the Kingdom of Pontus began its rapid rise under MithridatesⅥ.Through his alliance with the Parthian Empire and the Kingdom of Armenia,Mithridates VI obtained financial support from the leading powers in West Asia,and was able to rapidly expand its power and territory.Therefore,MithridatesⅥ's challenge to the Roman Republic's hegemony in the eastern Mediterranean should not be seen as a mere war between Pontus and Rome,but as the first non-head-on contest resulting from the collision between the Parthian Empire's westward strategy and the Roman Republic's eastward expansion.As the Parthian Empire fell into the"Dark Ages"of division and turmoil,the kingdom of Pontus,which lost the support of Parthia,gradually declined due to its weak strength in the war with Rome,and finally made the Roman Republic complete the historical mission of integrating the Eastern Mediterranean region.
