摘　　要：北京路是上海原公共租界最古老的道路之一。即使其两侧的建筑多次翻建,随着1922年新古典主义风格的格林邮船大楼和怡和洋行的落成,道路的界面已经基本定型。各房屋的主人几经变迁,不同时代有不同的故事上演。一部小说会让人想起现名“外滩27号”的原怡和洋行大楼,曾经长期作为“外贸大楼”存在。从20世纪末开始,伴随着上海的新一轮飞速发展,黄浦江对岸的陆家嘴迅速崛起,其最早的标志性建筑——东方明珠电视塔,在位置上正好构成北京东路东望的道路对景。时尚在不断刷新,记忆在不断叠加,城市场所也因此越来越呈现出多义性。Beijing Road is one of the earliest public thoroughfares in the former International Settlement of Shanghai.Up until 1922,the frontage of the road was mostly defined by the completion of the neoclassical Glen Line Building and Jardine Matheson Building,despite the fact that the other buildings along the way had been rebuilt and renovated multiple times.The ownership of each edifice has changed hands over the years,creating a tapestry of tales that cross generations.A recent popular novel,Fanhua(Blossoms),will remind you of the former Jardine Matheson Building,now known as‘No.27 on the Bund’,which once existed for a long time as the‘Foreign Trade Building’.As the 20th century drew to a close,Shanghai experienced a seismic shift with the rapid ascent of Lujiazui across the Huangpu River.
