The moving block mode, enabled by train-to-train communication,is an innovative approach within train control. It established a communication channel between the preceding and tracking train, enabling the latter to factor in the progress distance of the preceding train during the braking process when determining the tracking target point, which can achieve closer train tracking than moving blocks. This study investigated the train headway based on the train-to-train communication moving block system and contrasted it with the existing block systems such as fixed blocking,moving-like blocks, and moving blocks. On this basis,a T-value-based optimization method for train headway was proposed. This method established a stable range for train headway, achieving a balance between stability, comfort, and train headway during train operation. Finally, simulation verification was conducted using simulation software based on a specific line environment and train conditions. The simulation results show that the T-value-based optimization method significantly enhances performance, offering distinct advantages over existing blocking systems.
