摘　　要：美国宾夕法尼亚大学追授林徽因建筑学位一事值得讨论。本文提出建筑、非建筑、非非建筑三个概念,回溯林徽因的“建筑”之见,试论当年无法进入建筑系的她如何由艺术建筑和文艺复兴的不同立场帮助我们认识建筑是什么;并从这道知识光线映照林的“建筑”之路,回国后她在工艺美术方面的专业实践,其实更能体现出一位人文主义者将建筑处理为集美术之大成的超然境界。即使这个学位有助于后人将林视为一位禁得起制度性考验的建筑师,然而她身兼艺术建筑师、文艺复兴人、工艺美术家的身份,其实才为中国的文人建筑师原型燃点一盏明灯。The fact that the University of Pennsylvania posthumously awarded LIN Whei-Yin an architecture degree is worthy of discussion.This article presents three analytical hypotheses:architecture,non-architecture,and non-non-architecture.It reviews LIN Whei-Yin’s architectural view and discusses how she,who was unable to enter the Department of Architecture then,helped us understand what architecture is from different standpoints.After returning to China,LIN’s architectural path of arts and crafts can better reflect the transcendent realm of a humanist who treats architecture as the mother of the fine arts.Even though this degree will help future generations regard LIN as an architect who can withstand institutional examination,her multiple identities as an artist-architect,a Renaissance person,and a craftsman-maker/builder make her the archetypal Chinese literati architect.
