Nowadays, hyperthyroidism and hypothyroidism are common thyroid dysfunction diseases. In clinical treatment, there are often mutual transformation of hyperthyroidism and hypothyroidism due to too much intervention or less intervention.Maintaining the homeostasis of the body and achieving the neutral state of thyroid function are urgent problems to be solved inmodern clinical practice. Neutralization view is an important world view and methodology in ancient China, which has played animportant role in the development of TCM system. Based on traditional Chinese medicine classics and traditional philosophical theories, and combined with his own clinical experience, Professor Zhang Fuli believes that the root cause of hyperthyroidism and hypothyroidismlies in the disharmony of qi in the middle, and the opposite and complementary method is an important door for restoringneutralization. The leveling of Yin and Yang and the lifting and reversing of the ring are the basis of differentiation andtreatment of hyperthyroidism and hypothyroidism.
