The valve-controlled multi-actuator systems have problems such as large throttling losses and a serious waste of energy. Therefore,a principle of multi-actuator load difference balancing with energy storage is proposed. The power distribution characteristics are analyzed, and it is identified the reason for throttling losses caused by load difference is that the power source pressure matches the highest load and the other actuators consume the pressure difference in valves. Then,a co-simulation model of the excavator with the proposed system is established. An electro-hydraulic energy storage unit is designed to control the inlet-chamber pressures of each actuator to be equal,so as to eliminate the throttle losses caused by load difference. When the boom and bucket operate simultaneously, the throttling losses of the proposed system are reduced by 75%and the system efficiency is improved by 39%compared with the flow matching system.Meanwhile, the electro-hydraulic energy storage unit realizes the pressure-compensation function and significantly improves the stability.
