摘　　要：陈鸿舜是20世纪中国图书馆界的知名人物,但其生平活动很少有人进行研究。着眼于此,文章广泛挖掘洛克菲勒基金会收藏的陈鸿舜档案、哥伦比亚大学出版物、陈鸿舜的中英文著述成果等中外文史料,首先概述陈鸿舜的生平活动,包括他在燕京大学和哥伦比亚大学图书馆学院的求学经历,在燕京大学图书馆和北京大学图书馆学专修科等处的工作经历;然后介绍他在开展图书馆学教育和推进中美图书馆界交流方面作出的贡献;最后介绍他在图书馆学研究和汉学研究两个领域取得的成就。Chen Hungshun was a well-known figure in the Chinese library community in the 20th century,but his life and activities have rarely been studied.With this in mind,the article extensively explores the archives of Chen Hungshun collected by the Rockefeller Foundation,the publications of Columbia University,and Chen Hungshun's writings in both Chinese and English.The article firstly outlines Chen Hungshun's life,including his school experience at Yenching University and Columbia University's School of Library Service,and his work experience in Yenching University Library and Peking University's Library School,etc.Then it describes his contributions to library education and the promotion of exchanges between Chinese and American libraries.Finally,it discusses his achievements in library science and sinology.
