The miscibility of new-old asphalt interface directly affects the road performance of recycled asphalt mixtures. In this paper, the chemical functional groups of new and old asphalt were compared and analyzed by infrared spectroscopy to identify the characteristic functional groups that can be used to assess the level of asphalt aging. The asphalt film on the surface of RAP particles in the recycled mixture was finely separated by the"layered detergent method",and the relative content of characteristic functional groups in different thicknesses of the film was determined. The interfacial miscibility of new-old asphalt was quantitatively analyzed. The results showed that the infrared spectra of the new asphalt and the old asphalt were significantly different.Carbonyl C=O(1700 cm^(-1))and sulfoxide S=O(1035 cm^(-1))could be used as characteristic functional groups to assess the level of asphalt aging. The carbonyl index CI and sulfoxide index SI could be used as the evaluation index of new-old asphalt interfacial miscibility following the"partial miscibility"assumption. The research results provide a certain reference for the material design and performance control of recycled asphalt mixtures.
