As a new feed additive,N⁃carbamylglutamate(NCG)plays an important role in nutrient regulation of cattle and sheep, mainly by increasing plasma nitric oxide(NO)content, increasing rumen microbial diver⁃sity, improving dairy quality and enhancing antioxidant capacity of dairy cows.Improve the quality of male beef, reduce the concentration of urea nitrogen and ammonia in urine and blood, promote the discharge of am⁃monia and the synthesis of amino acids;increase lambing rate of sheep and improve liver inflammation of fetu⁃ses of restricted feeding Hu sheep;promote the growth and development of lactating goats and lambs. This pa⁃per proceeds as follow, the effects of dietary NCG on growth performance, immune regulation, reproductive performance, lactation performance and anti⁃oxidation of cattle and sheep were reviewed, and discussed the dose⁃selection strategy of adding NCG based on different performance requirements of animals,so as to pro⁃vide references for farmers to apply NCG to improve the performance of cattle and sheep.
