摘 要:莎翁商籁以五步抑扬格为基本韵律格式,如中国旧诗一般,对格律也有着“诗律伤严近寡恩”的要求。译者从一位格律诗人的创作体验出发,仿风格苍凉的五言古风《古诗十九首》,偶取《子夜歌》句意,在语风、韵律上最大限度地调动中诗元素,以归化审美为鹄的,试验性翻译了19首莎士比亚商籁。本组商籁中,新译的有10首(第28、29、30、44、57、60、64、71、81、109首),余则取自译者的中英双语旧体诗文译文集《昔在集》,略有改动;英文原文以新剑桥版为准。Shakespearean sonnets,which are based on iambic pentameter,have strict requirements on metrics which are,as in Chinese metrical poetry,“so strict that they are near ungrateful.”This translator,from the creative experience of a metrical poet,mimicking the desolate style of Nineteen Ancient Poems,randomly taking the aura of Midnight Songs,and to the maximum extent mobilizing Chinese poetic elements in terms of linguistic polish and rhythm,tentatively renders 19 Shakespearean sonnets into ancient airs in pentasyllabic verses with a naturalized aesthetic in mind.The majority of this set,10 sonnets,are new translations(Sonnets 28,29,30,44,57,60,64,71,81,109),the rest taken with slight changes from The Past Lingers,the translator’s bilingual collection composed of bidirectional translations of Chinese and English metered poems.For the original English texts,the New Cambridge edition is referenced.
