摘　　要：第二次世界大战爆发后,为应对纳粹德国潜在的核威胁,美国联邦政府在情报部门和学术界的双重压力下,与爱荷华州立大学在核科学领域展开了合作,并成立了埃姆斯实验室。该实验室不仅为曼哈顿工程提供了包括高纯度金属和稀土元素在内的大量工业产品,也在核科学领域展开了学术研究,从而有力地推动了美国核工业的进步。After the outbreak of World War II,in response to the potential nuclear threat posed by Nazi Germany,the US federal government cooperated with Iowa State University in the field of nuclear science under dual pressure from intelligence agencies and academia,and established the Ames Laboratory.This laboratory not only provides a large number of industrial products,including high-purity metals and rare earth elements,for the Manhattan Project,but also conducts academic research in the field of nuclear science,thereby effectively promoting the progress of the US nuclear industry.
