摘　　要：“英国小说之王”查尔斯·狄更斯是19世纪英国杰出的批判现实主义小说家,他的长篇小说《雾都孤儿》通过对主人公奥立弗·退斯特苦难悲惨的童年生活的细致刻画,生动描写了他与不公正、不平等社会现实的不屈抗争,突出了他坚守人性中正直与善良的高贵品格,成功地塑造了贫苦孤儿奥立弗·退斯特的生动形象,描绘了一幅栩栩如生的英国底层人民的生活画卷,对当时的英国社会及后世文学产生了深远的影响。Charles Dickens,the“king of British novels”,was an outstanding critical realistic novelist in 19th century England.His novel Oliver Twist described the protagonist’s unyielding struggle against the unjust and unequal social reality through a detailed description of his miserable childhood,highlights his noble character of upholding integrity and kindness in human nature,successfully shapes a vivid image of the poor orphan Oliver Twist,and depicts a vivid picture of the life of the British people at the bottom,which has a profound impact on the British society at that time and later literature.
