出版视阈下古代小说版画图题的形成、演变与功能

摘  要:从书坊出版刊刻的流程来考察,最早出现的上图下文本小说版画图题由书坊主或编撰者从文本中提炼总结,并作为画工绘制版画的指引。明万历年间,金陵地区的书坊主周曰校倡导“节目有全像”的加像理念,形成了有别于建本小说版画的新型图文关系,回目图题成为了版画图题的主流,其后出现的楹联式、题款式、题跋式的图题都是回目图题的重要补充,也是小说刊本“典雅化”的重要体现。从功能上来看,小说版画图题是书坊主贯彻个人意志、编刊者“逞才”的工具,是画工绘制版画的“指南针”,而读者可以通过图题了解核心情节,获得视觉上的审美感受。From the perspective of the process of publishing and engraving in bookstores,the titles of picture in the earliest novels with the image above and text below were extracted and summarized from the text by the bookstore owners or editors,and used as a guide for artists to draw prints.During Wanli period of Ming Dynasty,Zhou Yuexiao,the owner of a bookstore in the Jinling area,advocated the concept of adding images to the program,forming a new type of graphic-text relationship that was different from the printmaking of Jianben novels.The back to back image titles became the mainstream of printmaking titles,and the subsequent image titles of couplet style,title style,and postscript style were important supplements to back to back image titles and also an important manifestation of the"classical elegance"of novel publications.From a functional perspective,the novel printmaking title is a way for bookmakers to implement their personal will,a tool for editors to show off their talents and the"compass"for artists to draw printmaking.As for the readers,they can understand the core plot through the title while gaining a visual aesthetic experience.
