纤维直径对短切玻纤增强PBT复合材料力学性能的影响研究

摘  要:以短切玻璃纤维增强热塑性聚对苯二甲酸丁二醇酯复合材料(GF/PBT)为研究对象,采用金相显微镜、熔融指数测试仪、差示扫描量热仪(DSC)、力学测试技术、扫描电子显微镜(SEM)多种表征手段,对比研究了直径为10~15μm的玻璃纤维增强PBT复合材料在相同玻纤质量分数(30%)下的力学性能差异性。结果表明:随着玻纤直径变大,GF/PBT复合熔体熔融指数增加,熔体粘度下降,玻纤在复合材料中的保留长度提高;随着玻纤直径增大,复合材料中PBT的初始结晶温度逐步降低,使用直径较小的玻纤增强PBT其熔点相对较高;在纤维直径10~15μm范围内,GF/PBT复合材料的力学性能整体随着纤维直径增加而降低,其中10~11μm范围内性能较为接近,14~15μm范围内性能较为接近;直径较小的玻纤与树脂接触面大,在PBT树脂中分散性较好;随着纤维直径增加,玻纤在树脂中易于出现多根玻纤聚集,不利于复合材料的冲击性能。The glass fiber chopped strands reinforced thermoplastic polybutylene terephthalate composite(GF/PBT)was studied using metallographic microscope,melting index tester,differential scanning calorimeter(DSC),mechanical testing techniques and scanning electron microscope(SEM).The mechanical properties of glass fiber reinforced polybutylene terephthalate(GF/PBT)composites with fiber diameters ranging from 10μm to 15μm were comparatively investigated.The results have shown that with the increase of glass fiber diameter,the melt index of GF/PBT composite melt increases,the melt viscosity decreases,and the retention length of glass fiber in composite material increases.With the increase of glass fiber diameter,the initial crystallization temperature of PBT decreases gradually,while the melting point of PBT reinforced with smaller diameter is relatively higher.The mechanical properties of GF/PBT composites decrease with the increase of fiber diameter in the range of 10~15μm,and the mechanical properties are quite similar in the diameter range of 10~11μm as well as in the diameter range of 14~15μm.The glass fibers with smaller diameter have larger contact surface with resin,and have better dispersion in PBT resin.With the increase of fiber diameter,glass fibers tend to gather in the resin matrix,which leads to relatively poor impact strength of the composite.
