摘　　要：人物志研究是罗马共和国史研究的重要范式之一。20世纪初至70年代初,格尔泽、闵采尔等学者尝试用人物志重构罗马共和国政治史;罗纳德·塞姆将人物志研究推向高峰,在学界掀起人物志研究的风潮。70年代后,学界开始全面批判、反思罗马共和国的人物志研究,在这一过程中,人物志研究得到进一步的发展与完善。21世纪以来,罗马共和国史的人物志研究出现新发展趋势:通过同新技术、新方法相结合,人物志编纂、数据库建立等取得重大进展;研究对象逐渐从社会上层扩展至中下层。时至今日,人物志研究仍具有较强的生命力和更多的可能性。Prosopography has been an important approach in the study of Roman Republic history.Matthias Gelzer and Friedrich Münzer,who participated in the compilation of Prosopographia Imperii Romani and Pauly-Wissowa Realencyclopädie der classischen Altertumswissenschaft,attempted to restructure political history of Roman Republic with prosopographical approach.Thanks to Ronald Syme’s effort,prosopography became a trend in the study of Roman Republic.From the 1970s to 1990s,despite criticism against prosopographical approach,the trend continued.Since the 21st century,along with the application of new technology and methods,prosopographical studies further developed in terms of compilation and database construction.Meanwhile,the range of study also enlarged from focusing on elite to including middle and lower classes as well.Prosopography is apparently still a valid approach in the field of Roman history.
