摘　　要：为了提高对肯尼亚巴林戈地区硅藻土矿详查成果的认识,对肯尼亚巴林戈地区硅藻土矿床地质特征进行了较为系统的总结,初步分析了非洲肯尼亚巴林戈硅藻土矿床的成因,总结了该地区硅藻土矿床的找矿标志。结果表明,该硅藻土矿产出于新近系上新统火山岩中未分化沉积物互层中,研究区内含矿层总体呈北西向带状展布,倾向北东,分布长8.07 km,宽1.0~2.39 km,面积约13.8 km^(2)。矿床成因类型为与玄武岩有关的陆相沉积型硅藻土矿床。该地区硅藻土矿的找矿标志为:东非裂谷系东支新生代陆内裂谷盆地,地势平缓的丘陵区、大面积新近系上新统地层分布区、新近系上新统火山岩中未分化沉积物互层中的赋矿层位。研究成果可为东非裂谷系新生代陆内裂谷盆地寻找硅藻土矿床提供参考。Based on the geological characteristics of the deposit,the genesis of Baringo diatomite deposit in Kenya,Africa is preliminarily analyzed,and the prospecting criteria of the diatomite deposit in this area are summarized.The diatomite orebody is located in the interlayer of undifferentiated sediments of Neogene Pliocene volcanic rocks.The ore-bearing strata in the study area are 8.07 km long,1.0-2.39 km wide with an area of 13.8 km^(2).The genesis type of the deposit is a terrestrial sedimentary diatomite deposit related to the basalt.The prospecting indicator for diatomite orebody in this area is the Cenozoic intracontinental rift basin in the east branch of the East African Rift System,flat hilly areas,large areas of distribution of Neogene and Neogene strata,and ore-bearing layers in undifferentiated sedimentary interlayers in Neogene and Neogene volcanic rocks.The research result can provide a reference to explore for diatomite deposit in the Cenozoic intracontinental rift basin of the East African Rift System.
