摘　　要：十九世纪英国社会发展推动了教育的进步,许多低层中产阶级知识女性介入了家庭教师这个职业,在当时的历史语境下,社会地位卑微的家庭女教师以其鲜明的职业特征和游离于主仆之间的微妙身份,经常卷入错综复杂的情感风波,演绎出许多充满波折的婚姻故事,成为当时小说书写的一个主题。本文在已有研究的基础上从家庭女教师的历史语境、身份处境、婚姻诉求与婚姻归宿四个层面探讨十九世纪英国小说中家庭女教师的婚姻命运和人生轨迹。Social change and reform of the 19th-century promoted women’s educational standard and social status,which established governess as a special vocation.Many lower middle-class literate women became governesses,and they subsequently became a hot topic of British novels.For the distinct features their vocation and their humble identity suspending between master and servant,governesses often got involved in complicated love affairs and marriage romances.Based on the research achievements up to now,this paper discusses the marriage and life of the 19th‐century governesses from historical context,identity status,love expectation and marriage destination in the special historical times.
