Treating different diseases with the same method is a characteristic of diagnosis and treatment in traditional Chinese medicine(TCM),which refers to the fact that patients with different diseases present the same syndrome, and thus can be treated in the same way.Sarcopenia(SP)and osteoporosis(OP)are common degenerative diseases in the elderly. The simultaneous occurrence of the two diseases, known as osteosarcopenia(OS),can cause adverse consequences such as fall, fracture, and death, seriously affecting the quality of life of patients.Based on the available knowledge about SP and OP,this article analyzes the common etiology and pathogenesis of SP and OP from the perspective of treating different diseases with the same method and explores the treatment of SP,OP,and OS with TCM,aiming to provide reference for the clinical application of TCM.
