Biomass and coal standard samples with different carbon, hydrogen, and nitrogen contents were used to draw instrument standard curves, and an infrared absorption-thermal conductivity method was established to measure the content of carbon, hydrogen and nitrogen in biomass fuels. The interference caused by fluorine, chlorine, and sulfur during the infrared absorption-thermal conductivity method for determining carbon and hydrogen content in biomass fuels were effectively eliminated by incorporating calcium oxide absorbent into the sample. At the same time, the service life of the furnace reagent was improved and the maintenance cost of the instrument was saved. When the sample was 0.10 g,0.04 g calcium oxide could effectively absorb 23%of fluorine, chlorine, and sulfur in the sample. The limits of quantitation of each element were 0.0067%for carbon,0.056%for hydrogen and 0.029%for nitrogen. The relative standard deviation of the determination results of each element was less than 2.0%for biomass fuel samples and biomass analysis standard samples(n=5),and the measurement values of the standard samples were within the error range, with good accuracy.
